I am from country Queensland and my travelling companion Kate is from Scotland. We wanted to spend 3 weeks travelling through parts of Myanmar with an emphasis on the Commonwealth Graves War Cemeteries. We are in our mid 60s but are experienced Asian travellers and in good health. Our other major criteria was land transport only with an emphasis on rail travel. The reason for this was to better see/experience Myanmar up close. The trains travelling at moderate speeds with open carriage windows proved to be a photographer’s joy with the variety of interesting sights to be seen in passing.

The team at Burma Travel Australia were able to put together a package that suited our criteria. They were also happy to make changes to the itinerary where possible in consultation with us. Even on the tour itself there were minor variations made to suit our wishes when interesting side trips came to our notice. The co-ordination of guides and drivers during our stays at the various centres was spot on. The accommodation was excellent. The guides were knowledgeable and had a good grasp of English. The drivers were road safety conscious.

I have no hesitation in recommending Burma Travel Australia as a travel agency to work with. They proved to be good at planning all facets of a Myanmar tour for small groups such as ours.

Hi Alistair,

I would just like to re-iterate everything that Andy said on his testimonial.

We really couldn’t have asked for a more varied, interesting and well organized trip which ticked all our boxes.

Many thanks for all your efforts.

Cheers from Kate in Scotland

I had the pleasure of going recently to Thanbyuzayat war cemetery to visit the gravesight of my grandfather Charles Moyes Blair. He was a sergeant in the Light aid detachment and was killed accidentally by “Friendly Fire”?? On june 15th 1943. I was pleased and surprised to find the war cemetery to be magnificently kept on a beautiful sight quite close to where the Thai Burma railway  came to a stop in Burma.Anyone considering a journey to this far off sight will be rewarded Although he died before I was born I’m the only relative to visit his grave and found it a very moving experience. Thank you Burma Travel Australia for a memorable holiday.

“It was the best holiday experience my wife and I could have gone on. The people were so friendly, the scenery was undisturbed, and the culture and food were so unique. Above all, our guide was the best holiday companion one could have, a Burmese who knew Burma inside out. fantastic experience that I would recommend to all middle-aged couples wanting to experience a uniquely beautiful country. We would not hesitate to recommend Burma Travel Australia”
